Growing Together in Christ: Life, Prayer, and Mission
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” — Hebrews 10:24
The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. God calls us to be a community of believers who worship together, pray for one another, encourage one another, and serve our neighbors in the name of Jesus Christ. Our church family is more than a group of people who gather on Sunday morning. We are the body of Christ. Each person has a place, a purpose, and gifts that God can use to strengthen His church and reach others with the Gospel.
A Community of Prayer
Prayer is one of the greatest ministries we can share. When we pray for our families, our congregation, our community, and those who do not yet know Christ, we place our trust in God's hands. Paul reminds us: “Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Let us become a congregation known for prayer. Pray for our neighbors. Pray for those who are hurting. Pray for young families and children. Pray for those who have drifted away from church. And pray that God would give us opportunities to tell others about His love.
Tell Others About Christ
We do not need to be Bible scholars or professional evangelists to share the good news. We can simply tell people what Jesus has done for us.
A kind word, an invitation to worship, a visit with someone who is lonely, helping a neighbor, or sharing our testimony can open a door for the Gospel.
Jesus said: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” — Matthew 28:19
Our ministry grows when we look beyond ourselves and ask, “Who needs to hear about Jesus, and how can I help them experience His love?”
Growing God's Ministry
Growing the ministry of our church is not simply about having more people in the pews, is not about numbers. It is about helping more people know Jesus, experience Christian community, grow in faith, and discover the joy of serving others. Every member can participate. Some can pray. Some can visit. Some can teach. Some can serve. Some can invite. Some can encourage. Some can simply be present for someone who needs a friend. When we work together, God can accomplish more through us than we could ever accomplish alone. Let us continue to pray together, worship together, serve together, and reach out together. May our church be a place where people encounter the love of Christ and discover that they have a home among God's people. This month, ask God to show you one person you can encourage, one person you can invite, and one way you can serve. Then take that step of faith.
